HOW SHILAJIT FORMED

The Himalayan mountain range was formed when Indian plate and Eurasian plate collided some 50 million years ago, trapping plant matters in the rocks for millions of years. As these plants decomposed under extreme pressure of rocks, pristine air conditions and sudden temperature changes at high altitudes, they fermented and transformed into mineral rich resin and gathered in the cracks and crevices of rocks. Containing compounds from hundreds, sometimes thousands of plants, this natural resin canā€™t be replicated in a labā€”it can only be found in nature. Moreover, Shilajit extracted from different regions and altitudes have distinct composition and qualities.
Shilajit is classified as herb because it’s produced by the decomposition or humification of plant material from species such as Euphorbia royleana and Trifolium repens over a period of centuries.
